Song of the Morning, a new world center of yoga culture, is located on 800 acres of beautiful rolling woodland in northern Michigan. It is the perfect place for pursuing the spiritual reality that flows like a deep river beneath the chaos of our times.

 

Cellebrating 40 Years of Excellence

Welcome. Song of the Morning is a yoga retreat of excellence operated by Golden Lotus, Inc. Golden Lotus, a Michigan non-profit corporation, has three primary areas of operation.

Song of the Morning Yoga Retreat Center: Song of the Morning is here to serve its members. We provide members and guests an environment in which to learn and practice the spiritual techniques and principles based on the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda. Sunday meditation services and evening meditations are held year-round. Meditation Shrines, located throughout the Retreat, offer places of pilgrimage and private contemplation flawlessly adorned by nature.

Clear Light Community: The Clear Light Community is a residential community based on Yoganada’s concept of self-sustaining world-brotherhood colonies for plain living and high thinking. Presently the community consists of 75 private home sites. Future plans include an area for businesses, cottage industry, gardens and a temple. The community offers devotees of all walks of life the opportunity to live in an environment surrounded and supported by spiritually-minded people living in accordance with the principles of yoga.

Educational Programs: We offer classes focused on reaching a better understanding of man's physical, mental and spiritual potential. Various applications of the science of yoga are explored in a practical and scholarly manner. Our future vision is for these programs to evolve into a Yoga University.
