Our Mission
Founded in the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda, Golden Lotus, Inc. teaches the science of Yoga and its practical applications so that all can achieve the highest levels of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being as they progress on their path toward Self-realization.
Our Vision
Golden Lotus, Inc. is a Michigan nonprofit organization founded in 1970 by Yogacharya Oliver Black, at request of his teacher, Paramahansa Yogananda. Our vision is to serve our mission through three primary areas of operation: a retreat center, a residential community, and educational programs.
Retreat
Song of the Morning Ranch is first and foremost a yoga retreat of excellence that serves as a place of relaxation and spiritual refreshment to “all truth thirsty souls.” Our retreat center conducts meditation services and provides members and guests with an environment in which to learn and practice timeless spiritual techniques and principles anchored in the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda.
Community
Our Clear Light Community is a residential community based upon the concept of Paramahansa Yogananda’s World Brotherhood Colony. It is comprised of sincere seekers who have come together to live and work in harmony and to apply the scientific principles of Yoga so as to accelerate their spiritual growth and attain full realization of their highest potential. Educational Programs
We offer programs and retreats that teach methods for reaching a better understanding of one’s physical, mental, and spiritual potential. Subjects on various applications of the science of Yoga are explored in a practical and scholarly manner. Click here to see a full list of programs.
